Why Google Calendar doesn't just live on your iPhone
Your iPhone can show a Google Calendar today — add your Google account under Settings → Calendar → Accounts, and it appears in the Calendar app. But it stays a separate calendar, not part of iCloud: Siri suggestions, Screen Time calendar rules, and Family Sharing all key off your actual iCloud calendar, not an added Google account.

Can't I already see my Google Calendar on iPhone without this?
You can add your Google account in iPhone Settings and see it as a separate calendar — but it stays separate from iCloud. Seam actually merges the two into one continuously-synced pair, not just a side-by-side view.
Will Siri and Apple Watch pick up synced events?
Yes — once an event is mirrored into iCloud, Siri suggestions, Apple Watch complications, and CarPlay previews all see it, the same as any native iCloud event.
Does this work with Focus modes and Family Sharing?
Yes, since those features read from iCloud directly. A Google account added separately in iPhone Settings doesn't get this — a synced iCloud copy does.
Will it duplicate my events?
No. Events that already exist on both sides are linked, not copied twice.
What happens if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. Your account drops to the free plan, which syncs one way, a few times a day.
Can I undo a change?
